A Review into the Queensland Parole System
The Honourable Annastacia Palaszczuk MP, Premier and Minister for the Arts and the Honourable Bill Byrne MP, Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Services and Minister for Corrective Services established a review into the parole system in Queensland.
Mr Walter Sofronoff QC was appointed to lead the review. The review sought input from victims’ organisations, organisations working with offenders, academic researchers and experts, interested members of the public and persons working in the criminal justice system.
A report including findings and recommendations was provided to the Premier and Minister for the Arts and the Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Services and Minister for Corrective Services on 1 December 2016.
